of Ecology requirements.
· He said that salmon protection laws passed by DOE this year require
action on the part of Island County, but there is not enough money to fund
the requirements. He said our MRC could help with some of the unfunded mandates,
such as paying for inventorying of eelgrass, forage fish and shoreline hardening.

· Frank Roberts of Lagoon Point said he wanted to know more about salmon
protection and its relation to shoreline hardening. Joan Drinkwin said Hugh
Shipman at DOE has info.
